Supplier Management

Task

The evaluation of the performance of suppliers for selection decisions is only conducted on a case to case basis or with minimal basic criteria such as delivery dependability and reliability. A link to a strategic product group management is generally not given.

Approach

Together with you we will define the required criteria for a strategic evaluation of suppliers, define which suppliers should be evaluated and what the processes as well as the IT support should look like. In view of the first implementation we carry out the new defined processes together with purchasing and essential users in the own company and initiate first measures for the so called supplier development.

Typical results

All required elements for a strategic supplier management have been defined. These include the evaluation criteria and their characteristics, the scope of evaluation, the evaluation process, the supplier classification and the approach for supplier development. In view of piloting, selected strategic supplier portfolios are formed and first measures for a supplier development already compiled.
